We sell clean, well-skirted, premium fleeces. They are guaranteed to be as described or your money back (including shipping!). The price listed is for the entire fleece. Shipping (via USPS Priority Mail unless requested otherwise) is extra and depends upon the destination. You can estimate shipping cost from our ZIP code (48473) to yours at the U.S. Postal Service website. Keep in mind that the box will add about 1.5 lbs to the shipping weight.
All fleeces are shorn and stored in a smoke-free environment.
If you would prefer to receive a ready-to-spin product, we can take the fleece directly to Zeilinger’s Wool Processing in not-too-distant Frankenmuth, MI, for a small fee ($10 to cover gas) thereby saving one shipping charge (if you plan to ship it out for processing). Their website is www.zwool.com .
Fleeces are marked as SOLD when we have received payment. Fleeces marked RESERVED have been spoken for, but payment has not yet been received. They may still be available if the interested party does not follow through. We accept Paypal, personal check and money orders. Email us for our mailing address.
Fleeces are either shorn blanketed (covered while growing during the hay-feeding season) or pastured (uncovered while the sheep is on pasture, therefore no hay contamination). All are well-skirted.
White Romney Fleeces
PFR 631 6.25 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Blanketed fleece.
Wide, bold locks and crimp with a soft handle. PFR 631 was coated a majority of the year but there are a few stray pieces of straw. A great fleece for the price!
Precious Jr. 4.25 lbs, 6.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Blanketed fleece.
Bold lock and crimp with soft handle and tons of luster! A very pretty Romney fleece.
Due to its size, this fleece has been split. The remaining half is still available.
Bentearia 8.50 lbs, 6.00" staple length. Shorn March 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
The ewe that grew this fleece proved very difficult to keep a coat on. The result is a beautiful fleece that will be best sent to a mill for processing. It has some vegetable matter in the outer portions. However, it is a long-stapled, bold fleece with a soft handle and lots of Romney character and luster at a bargain price.
Coquille 8.50 lbs, 6.00" staple length. Shorn March 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
This is another gorgeous fleece going for a very reasonable price due to being unblanketed. There is a modest amount of VM, more than we prefer to sell as a fleece to be processed by hand. The locks are beautiful, distinct and lustrous and the handle is very soft. The resulting roving will be outstanding.
Natural Colored Romney Fleeces
Cupcake 5.00 lbs, 6.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Blanketed fleece.
Dark to light silver fleece with medium width, distinct locks and crimp. Quite lustrous!
PFR 629 5.00 lbs, 6.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
Soft, medium silver fleece with medium lock and distinct crimp. There is a small amount of VM, mainly straw chaff hence the reduced price. The picture is representative of the fleece.
Mona 7.50 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn March 2014. Blanketed fleece.
This is our top fleece this year. Incredible lock, crimp, handle and luster . This ewe's fleece is getting finer as she ages, but she is not losing any character. The photo says it all. Blanketed and immaculate. Pricey but worth it.
Bluefaced Leicester Fleeces
All unblanketed, but extremely clean (we find blanketing causes cotting or felting at the tips on BFLs).
Black Hawk 3.25 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
Small, fine, separate locks with beautiful purling and great handle.
Bonnie 3.80 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
What a great fleece! Medium fine locks with distinct purling. Beautiful color going from black to silver brought forward by the high luster.
PFR 692 2.00 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
Medium sized lock and purl with a soft handle. This fleece will wash into a beautiful white.
PFR 735 3.25 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
This is a first shearing fleece for this ewe lamb. It is a lustrous black fading to silver with fine, distinct locks and great purling. A very nice, soft BFL lamb fleece!
Reva 2.00 lbs, 4.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
Fine lock and purl with a nice handle.
Thelma 7.00 lbs, 5.00" staple length. Shorn February 2014. Unblanketed fleece.
A great fleece! While it is a rather atypical BFL fleece, it has medium, distinct lock and purling and is one of our favorite fleeces. It is soft with a "buttery" handle and excellent luster.
